Early February newly appointed head coach, Ciro Prisco, arrived at NUIG BC making the move from ex-club Newcastle university where he was leading the lightweight mens program and the novice programs. Whilst his time at Newcastle university he made a name for himself, where during his period as coach, Ciro developed athletes to international level. (whilst himself coaching u23 GB athletes to u23 world championships)He has also succeeded on a domestic level with success regattas like the BUCS where in 2018 won the victor ludorum with Newcastle university, and more mentionably two Prince Albert wins henley royal regatta. Now Ciro looks to make the same success he had with newcastle university, with his new home at NUIG boat club.
